ICME is an international committee within ICOM

How do you become a member of ICOM?
In order to become a member of ICME you have to be a member of ICOM. Apply for membership in ICOM through the national ICOM committee in your country. If there is no national ICOM committee in your country, seek assistance from the ICOM headquarters in Paris.

How do you become a member of ICME?
As a member of ICOM you have the right to be voting member of one international committee. In addition, you also have the right to become a member of as many other International Committees as you wish, but without any voting rights. Ask your national committee or the ICOM headquarter in Paris for a ICOM registration form.

Over 300 members
ICME has more than 300 voting and non voting members from all parts of the world, and the number is continuously increasing. Our members come from a wide variety of museum professions.

Electronic communication
Like other international committees, ICME is changing its communication with members from ordinary mail to electronic mail. This is necessary for economic reasons, but also makes it possible to communicate more often and without many restraints.

Over 900 subscribers
ICME has more than 300 members inscribed in ICOM/ICME from all parts of the world. In addition, over 300 museums ethnographers subscribe to our Yahoo newsgroup. This number is continually increasing. ICME members and subscribers represent a wide variaty of museum professions. We encourage all of our readers to become active members of ICOM/ICME.
